Sensei Cote instruction on 1/16 and 2/6

Dear Instructors and Karateka,

First, let me welcome you to 2015. I hope you’ve recovered from the new years eve celebrations and are prepared for challenges and opportunities of the new year.

We are pleased to announce that Sensei Cote has accepted our invitation to train at our dojo on January 16 and February 6, with January 30 as a make-up day, if necessary. I ask that you show up by 7pm on these dates, and that you quickly change and warm up so that instruction can begin at 7:30. These events are mandatory for black belts senior kyu ranks. They are highly recommended for junior kyu ranks.

Workout tonight and Seminar at Penn State tomorrow

Club, tonight we will workout at the normal time. If going to the Penn State seminar tomorrow be sure to have your Gi cleaned and pressed. If you only have one Gi wear loose workout clothes tonight and have your Gi ready for tomorrow.

For the trip to Penn State tomorrow, we will work out carpool details tonight but expect to meet early Saturday morning at the Dojo for those that need a ride. We normally meet and depart by 0600 but will discuss tonight and via e-mail.

If you need a ride tomorrow and will not be at workout tonight please let Sensei Jim Miller or myself know soonest so we can coordinate.

Remember we will need to bring our 50″ Jo’s tomorrow for the seminar!

See you tonight!

Club Participation at Burke Centre Festival 6-7 September

We will be having a booth at the festival the weekend of 6-7 September.  Please sign up using the “poll” at the following link: Poll Link  Goal is to cover all the time slots with at least two people at the booth.  The 8:00am and 5:00pm slots are for setup and takedown.

Link to the festival website is here: Burke Centre Festival

Gis are not required, but recommended and can be worn to the event or changed into over top of shorts/t-shirt.  Please wear club t-shirt if not wearing your Gi.

Be sure to bring some water and stay hydrated!

This is a good opportunity to sign up new members and a good way to get more practice in!  We will be doing informal demonstrations at the booth which include katas and self-defense techniques.  A good time for sign-offs!

See you there!
